Job Description:
Business Manager

House Municipal Schools is looking for a dedicated, professional and knowledgeable team player to join our Administrative team as Business Manager.  The person hired for this position will perform all school business/ financial functions relative to the efficient operation of the district.

  •  Knowledge of the Visions Accounting Software Program or experience with other accounting software
  • Knowledge of Fund Accounting
  • Knowledge of Budget Creation
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources Protocol
  • Completes quarterly 941 and employment reports; including Medicaid reports for Region #6 Cooperative
  • Knowledge and application of Chart of Accounts
  • Ensures that expenditures do not exceed budget allocations
  • Ensures that expenditures are made from proper budgets (verify Chart of Accounts and information)
  • Knowledge and application of encumbrance (PO’S) and liquidation procedures (checks issued)
  • Assures that all accounts payable payouts are supported with invoices and with properly processed documentation
  • Maintains systematic voucher reports
  • Makes and processes required adjustments to budgets
  • Records, prepares for deposit and enters all revenue for these funds received by the district (systematic receipt log)
  • Maintains cash balance of all accounts
  • Reconciliation of bank statements monthly
  • Provides all financial reports
  • Processes semi-monthly payroll for the district including payroll reporting requirements
  • Assists during audit process
  • Prepares 1099’s and W2's per IRS requirements
  • Completes Quarterly/ End of Year close out reports and necessary adjustments
  • Assists with in-services and training of district personnel regarding procedures
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Ability to operate a Personal Computer and related software

  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies

Additional Requirements:
Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a Level I/II School Business Officials License
